Jenny Board

Site Director at Giraffe Laugh in Kuna

I am a 4th Generation Southern California native. I fell in love with the northwest when I moved to Bend, Oregon back in 1999 and found my way over to Boise in 2009. I am known as the “baby whisperer” among family and friends so when it came to higher education I knew I wanted to work with younger children. I received my BA in Child Development at California State University Northridge then my MA in Human Development with three specializations at Pacific Oaks College. I’ve always been drawn to infants and toddlers, so my first teaching job was in the toddler room at the Universal Studios Early Learning Center. There I was introduced to R.I.E. and the whole child approach. When I left California, I began to spend a lot of my teaching years in the Head Start program of which, I became the State of Idaho Infant/Toddler Specialist. When I came upon Giraffe Laugh, I was thrilled to join the team. I am so happy that organizations like Giraffe Laugh exist because it has always been a dream of mine to provide high quality childcare to every family regardless of their income. I have a mentor’s heart and feel strongly that mentorship with early educators is my calling. I cannot wait to build an amazing team of educators so together we can make a difference. When I’m not working, I spend time traveling with my family and adopting both sea turtles and manatees.
