Hi friends, I’m Trisha Mick! With nearly two decades of experience across public libraries, statewide STEM education, and organizational leadership, I have built my career on a single belief: every person deserves access to high-quality learning and care, regardless of income, background, ability, or location.
Before joining Giraffe Laugh, I served as the Idaho EcosySTEM Director under the University of Idaho Extension, leading the strategic and organizational development of a statewide initiative and its three regional hubs. In that role, I connected partners across early childhood, K-12, higher education, out-of-school, workforce, and nonprofit sectors to foster transformative STEM learning experiences. There, I saw firsthand that a community’s strongest investment in its future workforce begins in the earliest years of life.
I view early childhood education as the foundation of a thriving community and believe investing in early childhood is investing in the future workforce. My approach is creative and collaborative, building on the strengths that already exist within organizations and communities. I have designed and led numerous programs for youth and families, including a popular preschool coding storytime. I currently serve as the Board Chair of the Children’s Museum of Idaho, where I champion hands-on learning experiences for children and families.
When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring Idaho’s outdoors with my senior dog, Dusty. I firmly believe that with dedication, collaboration, and a bit of caffeine, anything is possible.
