September 2024

September is reminiscent of school shopping, apples, fresh corn, crisper air and earlier night time. As we begin to settle in for fall weather the heat of summertime still clings and reminds us of the lovely, lazy days behind us.  This transition is beautiful in Boise, as we have four distinct seasons and moving from one to the next is both bittersweet and a reminder that time flies for us all.

Our kids are all moving from one classroom to another and their season of new adventures begins. With it comes some tears and adjustment, and that’s just the parents. Our kids are excited and thrilled to move with their friends to the next level and treasured teachers both new and old. During this time of change, it’s important for us to stay in touch and recognize ways we can empower our families as their child’s first teacher.

This school year is a very special one as we are welcoming new parents and children from the Kuna community located at the Boys and Girls Club. As our building fills with excited families, and teachers are eagerly embracing new students, and loving on little babies, we are thrilled to be a part of the Kuna community alongside the Club. Imagine a place, shiny and new, that a family can raise their children in concert with professionals that care about, and for their children, throughout their entire childhood. That’s what we are accomplishing in Kuna. Without the Boys and Girls Club, the Workforce Development Council and CS Beef Packers (and so many others) this would not be possible. It is with gratitude that we engage in this work!

To support our expansions this year that will double our impact, we are holding our Little Swings Fore Big Dreams golf scramble on Friday, September 6th at Eagle Hills Golf Course. Join us if you can by investing in early childhood opportunities for the new families and children we will bring into the Giraffe Laugh family in the coming year. We need you to help make the magic happen.

We embrace the upcoming season and hope you are finding joy and comfort in the steady march of time and the promise of a new start. Happy fall for those ready to make the transition, or happy end of summertime for those that are not. Either way, thank you for being a part of our Giraffe Laugh family where we collectively ensure school readiness, empower families and build strong futures.
